Author Guidelines

PLASU Journal of Archival, Library and Information Science (PLASUJALIS) is a biannual publication of the Department of Library and Information Science, Plateau State University, Bokkos. The journal is devoted to the dissemination of research findings and general knowledge in Health Information, Business Information, Archival Management, Records Management, Library and Information Science, and affiliated fields.

Submission Guidelines

  1. All articles submitted to the PLASU Journal of Archival, Library and Information Science (PLASUJALIS) must be original. If any of the material has been published or submitted elsewhere, this must be made clear to the Chief Editor in writing and should be resolved. All submissions should be made through the online submission system.
  2. Articles for publication should be written in English Language and must not exceed fifteen (15) pages, including abstracts and references.
  3. Abstracts should have a minimum of three keywords and should not exceed two hundred and fifty (250) words.
  4. Articles should be submitted in MS-Word 2007 or later version. No other word processing applications are accepted.
  5. The article should be typed in double line spacing and on one side of A4 paper.
  6. The font should be Times New Roman, size 12.
  7. The article should include the name(s) of the author(s), institutional/organizational affiliation, phone number, and email address.

Article Structure

The article should follow this format:

  1. Introduction: Background of the study, rationale, and objectives.
  2. Literature Review (optional): Sufficient, well-argued, and backed with current citations/references.
  3. Methodology: Clearly describe research methods and statistical techniques used.
  4. Results: Provide appropriate statistical analyses, tables, and figures, if needed.
  5. Discussion
  6. Conclusion
  7. Appendixes (optional)
  8. References

Additional Information

  1. References for both print and electronic sources must comply with the APA style (7th edition).
  2. Contributing authors are bound by the decision of the Editorial Board on the status of each article. However, the Editorial Board shall not be held liable for opinions, expressions, and facts found in any manuscripts but retains the copyright ownership of such publications.
  3. Preference is given to empirical, well-researched papers.
  4. The PLASUJALIS will be available online.
  5. All articles for publication should be submitted online. Each article should be accompanied by a non-refundable assessment fee of five thousand naira (N5,000.00).
  6. Accepted articles for publication must be submitted along with a publication fee of twenty thousand naira (N20,000.00).
